Learning to unlearn.

Disregarding something from your memory. When you unlearn something, you forget it, put it aside and lose knowledge of it.

As we are growing up, much emphasis is always put on learning so that we adapt to some things then become better and resilient. But why would you need to unlearn something, here is why.

Alvin Toffler once had this to say:”The illiterate of the future are not those can’t read or write, but those who can’t learn, relearn and unlearn”

Learning is easy. Unlearning is hard. Unlearning requires one to drop their ego and biases. It challenges one’s beliefs. Given these times of technology and science, we ought to learn how and what to unlearn certain things so as to cope up with the ever-expanding knowledge and skill base.

In my next blog, I will be sharing the various things we as young people and generations ahead of us, ought to unlearn basically about life as we live it purposefully.

Me always asking myself who I am to the people around me and in my circle, but it’s a point to remind myself about that it’s an inner self evaluation. Who am I to myself, getting to peace with who you are in and out. The only way we can muscle up our esteem without seeking approval from the environment around us to assume relevancy…
